Summary

When you share an experience with ShareTeam, the details will never be published or shared publicly unless you specifically consent to this.  It may be necessary to share some details from shared experiences with people in the relevant organizations to clarify meaning and patterns across all of the experiences relevant to tackling a sticky challenge.  We make good faith efforts to anonymize any shared details when this happens.

If experiential details are shared with a healthcare organization, we never share personal details (things like your name, email, or similar potentially identifying information) unless there's a serious risk of harm to you or others.

People who share experiences with us can request removal of their contributions at any time.  Please know, however, if we have shared information from your experience with others as part of our ongoing work, copies may exist outside of our platform.

Who we are

ShareTeam, L3C is a low-profit limited liability company organized under the laws of the state of Maine in the United States of America.

Why we collect experiences from you

ShareTeam is on a mission to solve healthcare's most wicked challenges.  We do this by making it easy to leverage the power of everyday stories shared by anyone connected to the delivery of healthcare.  To this end, it is incredibly important to assure we provide a platform where people are not only comfortable with sharing their experiences honestly and without fear, but can also see how the healthcare organizations relevant to their experience are benefitting from the information and insights their experiences provide.

Our data processing is dependent upon your consent.  We only collect and share experiences from you if you agree to share it.  You can withdraw your consent for us to share your experiences at any time.

The kind of Information we collect

When you share an experience on ShareTeam we ask for information about you and your story.  These details can include:

  • Your experience.  We will publish some, but not all experiences, on our public-facing website (if you explicitly consent to this).  We may share details from your experience with the medical facilities and / or providers to which it relates.   We will plot your responses to clarifying questions about your experience to interrogate our data and conduct pattern exploration.

  • Your e-mail.  If you are not logged into our platform when sharing an experience, we may occasionally collect your email address when you share an experience.  We will do this when there's a potential need to communicate with you about your experience, or to provide you an opportunity to track activity-based reward programs with your submission.

If you are not logged into our platform when submitting information, or we do not ask you to provide contact information in connection with a submission, then that particular submission is totally anonymous.  We have no way of associating it with your identity (and no way to remove the details of that submission from our platform upon request).  If we do collect personal contact information from you, we will never share it outside of ShareTeam, its employees, volunteers, and contractors.

  • Demographic data.   Most of our experience collection activities ask participants to share various demographic details, such as gender, age group, race / ethnicity and similar data.  These details are important to identify trends or patterns across different population segments.  It is usually not required to share this information.  If you do elect to provide these details, as with other identifying information, your responses are not shared outside of ShareTeam, its employees, volunteers or contractors except in aggregated and anonymized formats.

  •  Your IP address.  Parts of our platform may collect your IP address and other details about your internet connection and device.  We collect this information to help us understand and improve how people interact with our site, as well as to detect and prevent possible abuse of our systems.

Your rights over your information

We maintain and share the information you provide only with your consent.  You can withdraw consent to our sharing some or all of information you have previously authorized at any time.  Other rights you have include:

  • Access.  A detailed summary of information you provide (other than anonymous submissions) is available by submitting a request through our website or by e-mail to: [email protected]

  • Removal.  You can ask us to remove any experiences you shared with us whether we have published them or not.  You may also ask us to delete your account and all identifying information associated with it in its entirety.  Please note that deletion of your account will also eliminate information relevant to tracking any activity-based rewards  to which you may be entitled.  Please note it is not possible for us to remove copies of any published experiences other people may have made on their own devices.
